Paul has studied the Alexander Technique since 1997 when he first came across it as an actor at the National Theatre. It has helped him to overcome nerves and joint pain, and given him much greater freedom vocally and physically. In an entertainment industry rife with rejection and transience, he has found that AT gives him the ability to stay upbeat as well as grounded. He also found AT was a brilliant tool to deal with the pressures of Drama teaching in Further Education.
In 2006 he decided to use the technique to help others. He trained at the Brighton School For Alexander Technique where his experience included helping people to surmount voice difficulties, depression, debilitating disorders of the nervous system, and severe back and joint pain.
Paul combines his work as an actor with the Alexander Technique. He has found studying character has developed his capacity for quiet empathy, communication and non-judgemental observation. These, along with his subtle manual skills, can empower people to naturally overcome many types of obstacles, and to gain the tools to fulfil their potential. He is married with a one son, and lives near Lewes, where he has a private practice.
